Micro Systems in 2024: A successful year of innovations, growth and resilience
2023 marked a key milestone of Micro Systems’ journey, as we celebrated 20 years of manufacturing excellence in precision engineering for the medical, pharmaceutical, ophthalmics and diagnostics markets. As we step into the new year 2024, let’s have a look at our great achievements in 2023.
Serving a global market
With our 2 well-established facilities in the UK and Singapore, Micro Systems continues successfully serving our global customers with efficiency and excellence in product quality, communication, time management and the overall customer service.
Continuous investment
In 2023, as part of the strategic ‘pattern of continuous investment’, and to support the growing demand from the global markets as well as to further boost production efficiency, reduce lead times and costs, the Haydock-based company has invested £1M on new machines, including a Werth CT Scanner, a Custom Agie X400 Milling machine and an Agie Wire Cut 2000 X machine. The recently added Werth CT Scanner brings in-house the capability to quickly develop iterations to shorten lead times during testing and validation. The 2 new Agie machines increase Micro Systems’ capacity by improving production efficiency and automising production processes, to reduce delivery time across a larger number of projects, ultimately benefiting our customers.
Investing in people
Micro Systems continued investing in our people, with continuous technical and safety training, as well as social events for increased team bonding. We are proud of the commitment that our colleagues stay with us, as more than 50% of our employees have stayed with us for more than 5 years, and 22% have stayed with us for more than 15 years.
Excellence in operations and services
As always, Micro Systems devotes continuous effort in improving our operation and service standards, with enhanced manufacturing methodologies, increased level of digitalisation in management and innovations in design and manufacture. We also continue tracking our CSR performance.
Marketing visibility
After 3 years of disruption due to Covid-19, in 2023, Micro Systems pushed to have our visibility more recognised on a global scale through our marketing initiatives. We exhibited in a number of events, including the MD&M West 2023 in the US, Lab-on-a-Chip and Microfluidics Europe 2023 in the Netherlands, Medical Fair in Thailand, Medical Fair in Ireland, InterPlas in Birmingham and COMPAMED 2023 in Germany. Besides, we also attended a number of other industry events to showcase and network with leading companies and new players in the industry, so together, we can collaborate to bring the most innovative products to the market. We are also more visible online, with a number of articles contributed covering the company’s news and industry insights.
Looking forward, Micro Systems expects to continue with the commitment to improving technology and capabilities through investment on machinery and training, marketing and operation performance, securing its position as one of the leading precision mould makers, driving the industry with innovative solutions in ultra-precision moulds, moulding and micro injection moulding using groundbreaking engineering techniques.
